Dear
Adventurer,
I need your help!
My Aunt Aggie is missing.
She was treasure hunting off the coast of Scotland, and now... poof. Gone. Also, there’s a Hogboon living in our basement, floating spellbooks in the library, and a Viking sorceress might have cursed me.
Good news: I have a magic kaleidoscope. It’s basically a hotline to amazing women from history—like Mary Queen of Scots! The Wise Women say if I find the Stones of Life, I can bring Aggie home.
If you’re ready to chase clues, dodge spells, and solve a few ancient mysteries, click the kaleidoscope. I could really use a fellow explorer.
Your Friend,
Zoe
P.S. Watch out for the trows!

Stenness, Orkney — Agnes Muir, 62, of Stenness, disappeared Friday morning during a scuba dive in Scapa Flow. Muir, a native Orcadian, environmentalist, and experienced diver, was diving offshore with the Scuba for Seniors club when she failed to resurface. Captain Angus “Mac” McCormick said conditions turned suddenly: “There was fog, strong currents—then Aggie was gone. She’s a pro. I’ve never lost a diver. She’s out there somewhere. We’ll find her.”
Orkney Police Detective Budge noted that missing person cases are rare on the mainland. “We’re asking all boaters and fishermen to keep an eye out for Ms. Muir and report anything unusual. Swimmers should also take precautions—there have been unconfirmed sightings of large, black shapes in the water.”
Search and rescue teams continue operations with assistance from the Coast Guard.
Anyone with information is urged to contact
local authorities.

Last known sighting of Ms. Muir at the Scapa Flow.

Book One
When her treasure-hunting Aunt Aggie vanishes off the coast of Scotland, twelve-year-old wannabe detective Zoe Flores inherits a magical kaleidoscope—and a mystery.
With help from the Clan, a ghostly sisterhood of scientists, rebels, and queens, she must outwit Scottish folklore sprung to life and protect the balance of magic… and nature.
Good thing she’s got brains, backup, and a Hogboon in the laundry chute.
A Time-Bending Mystery
A Treasure Hunt Through History
What's the Twist?
Ghost. The Famous Kind
Meet Zoe Flores: a twelve-year-old puzzle whiz, rule-breaker, and proud member of the Young Sleuths of America. She’s brilliant with logic, awkward with people, and often guided by dreams that come true. So when her beloved Aunt Aggie vanishes off the northern coast of Scotland, Zoe doesn’t see an accident—she sees mystical foul play.
The mystery pulls her to the Orkney Islands, where a treasure hunt through time has already begun. Her adventure begins with Aggie’s Wonderbelt—an enchanted toolbelt passed down through generations. At its heart is a weathered brass kaleidoscope that serves as a magical hotline to the Clan: a ghostly sisterhood of Scotland’s fiercest forgotten women. Brilliant thinkers, bold leaders, and visionaries bring centuries of smarts, sass, and second sight to Zoe's quest. They become her secret weapon in unraveling the Secret of the Scottish Stones—a puzzle woven over thousands of years in runic riddles, constellations, and symbols hidden in water, stone, and bone.
As the Summer Solstice looms and the tides grow strange, Zoe must recover the three Stones of Life before Aggie vanishes forever—and the Selkies slip back into legend. The balance of magic—and nature—depends on it. Along the way, she’ll face an undead Viking sorceress, the treacherous Finfolk, floating books, the cursed Raven Banner—and, of course, a splash of Trow spit.
Luckily, she’s got backup: a brave little sister, a local boy with spy-movie swagger, and Huey the Hogboon—who lives in the laundry chute and snacks on toenails (don’t ask).
To brave a world of secrets and spells, Zoe must think like a scientist, rise like a rebel, and lead like a queen.
